Summer Checklist
Summer is upon us! Now is the perfect time to get to those projects you may have been putting off til warmer weather, and an even better time to ensure your home is prepared for the harsh Summer months, as well as the change of season when the time comes! Here are some quick tips on projects and inspections you might consider during this Summer.
Inspect your furnace, change the filter.
Turning off your furnace for the spring and summer months, be sure to switch out your furnace filter every 3-4 months. If you didn’t have your furnace serviced in the spring, now is the time! Having your furnace serviced ensures you a peace of mind in the winter and gives you the opportunity to save up if you detect any defects in your furnace.
Inspect your house exterior for loose or rotted siding.
Power wash siding or brick. This will help get rid of any dust, dirt, tree sap, bird droppings, etc., and will leave your home looking better and lasting longer.

Repair and Repaint
Any chipped, cracking, or faded exterior paint to protect your home from the elements.
Inspect Foundation
Inspect for cracks or leaks. Foundation cracks can create an entry point for groundwater which can lead to serious flooding.

Check Insulation and Ventilation
In the summer, attic insulation helps reduce heat gain through the ceiling to living spaces below. Now is a good time to ensure your insulation in the attic, and even in other places of the home such as in the walls, and around
ventilation is in good shape. This will reduce the need to run any air conditioning in the summer, and reduce heating bills in the winter!
